National Insurance Number Assistance
The UK National Insurance service covers all the employees in the country. It is essential to obtain a National Insurance Number as soon as possible after your arrival in order to be legally employed. The number is used to record your contributions to the service, and you can also use it for claiming social security benefits. Your employer can give you a temporary "emergency" number. However this will entitle the employer to retain a larger amount of tax from your salary. For this reason we highly recommend that you do not delay with your application.
To apply for the National Insurance Card you have to produce at least one of the following identification documents: your passport, driving license, national identity card, birth certificate, student ID card, etc.
You will also need employment documents such as: pay slips, work permit, your contract of employment, evidence that you are actively looking for work and/or others.
